S.T.A.R. Technique
Week #2
What is it?
The STAR technique helps you structure your answers in interviews to clearly show your experience and impact.
⭐S.T.A.R. stands for:
- S – Situation: What was the context?
- T – Task: What was your responsibility?
- A – Action: What steps did you take?
- R – Result: What was the outcome?
Example: “Tell me about a challenge you faced in a Salesforce project.”
S: “In my last role, the sales team was frustrated with manual reporting.”
T: “I was asked to automate the process using Salesforce reports and dashboards.”
A: “I met with users to understand their needs, created custom report types, and built dashboards tailored to each manager.”
R: “The team saved over 5 hours per week, and management had better visibility into pipeline metrics.”

Hi, teacher. I tried to use the star’s methodology in my current situation:
I am working now as Salesforce developer with a customer of energy’s company . That customer hasn’t experience with salesforce and agile methodology. In my team has so few people and no have all roles necessary to implantation a salesforce Project. It’s a challenge because all of us are a little bit architech, a little consultant, a little administrator, etc. My job role is developer, but actually I work with so may functions in this Project. On the one hand it’s a pretty good, because I learning all of functions in a Salesforce Project, but on the other hand it’s a difficult, because I hasn’t a time to developer, I spend a lot of time in meeting with this cliente and mainly in unproductive meeting. In this situation, all of us was frustaded, and that’s why we talked with manager and we exposed our perpective about this Project. We ask for more developers and administrators and an architech for the team. We also ask for a scrum master and a software for manage the scope, because the documentation is a really messy here, better said, there is no documentation. Now the current Project is better than the old Project. The customer learning the agile methodoly and we can developer the scope’s sprints. In this case the political issues is the major of the issues, and we needed for a active and real management. I really hope that the project’s growth improves and i really work hard for this.
